Dispensaries in Yorkshire

Leeds Dispensary
The Dispensary, in North street, established in 1824, is another charity supported by annual contributions and casual benefactions. It affords medical and surgical aid to the poor and friendless, as out patients; and those who are not able to stand at the dispensary are visited at their on houses by the physicians and surgeons. It relieves about 3,000 patients per annum, at the cost of about 600 but it is to be regretted that its expenditure often exceeds its receipts. Mr J J Ayre, is the house apothecary.
