The area of the Welsh Regional Hospital Board was the administrative Counties of the whole of Wales and the administrative county of Monmouth. The

Board address in 1949 Westminster House, 95/97 St Mary Street, Cardiff when the Chairman of the Board was Sir Frederick J. Alban.

The Welsh region consisted of the following Hospital Management Committee's

1. Newport and East Monmouthshire Hospital Management Committee
2. North Monmouthshire Hospital Management Committee
3. Rhymney and Sirhowy Valleys Hospital Management Committee
4. Brecon and Radnor Hospital Management Committee
5. Cardiff Hospital Management Committee
6. Merthyr and Aberdare Hospital Management Committee
7. Pontypridd and Rhondda Hospital Management Committee
8. Mid Glamorgan Hospital Management Committee
9. Glentawe Hospital Management Committee
10. West Wales Hospital Management Committee
11. Mid Wales Hospital Management Committee
12. Caernarvon and Anglesey Hospital Management Committee
13. Clwyd and Deeside Hospital Management Committee
14. Wrexham Hospital Management Committee
15. Monmouthshire Mental Hospital Management Committee
16. Cardiff Mental Hospital Management Committee
