Leighton Buzzard Poor Law Union and Workhouse

The Board of Guardians met alternate Fridays at the Workhouse at 10am to discuss Union matters.

The Workhouse was erected in 1836 by William P. Roote, architect and based on a single courtyard design with wrought iron first floor galleries. It was built to accommodate 250 inmates.
