Sherborne Union

The Union comprises the following Parishes:

The population of the Union in 1911 was 11,871; area 38,411 acres; rateable value Lady Day 1915, 89,834.

Board Day, Thursday, fortnightly, in the Board Room, Poor Law Institution, 11am.
Chairman of the Board of Guardians, Col. John Robert Phelips Gooden, Compton House, Sherborne.
Clerk to the Guardians and Assessment Committee Herbert John Seymour, Long Street.

The Poor Law Institution, Horsecastles, is a building of stone, erected in 1837, to hold 240 inmates.
