Huntingdon Union Workhouse was erected
at Great Stukeley 1836-1837 from designs
by Architect Sampson Kempthorne.
The Times reported on 16th April 1836 that there were disturbances at Huntingdon Workhouse relating to opposition to the implementation of the Poor Law Amendment Act.
