Whitechapel Workhouse and Poor Law Union
Vallance Road, Spitalfields, erected 1842 as Whitechapel Workhouse, became
Whitechapel Infirmary following the erection of South Grove Workhouse. Later
became St Peter's Hospital, Vallance Road.

An Industrial School was erected 1852 at Forest Gate, and sold to the Forest
Gate School District in 1869.
Grays Scattered Homes for Children were erected in Essex during 1899.
